Steve Blame is a television presenter, screenwriter, author, and famously the face of MTV News Europe from 1987 to 1994. During an era of seismic political and cultural change, Steve interviewed global icons who defined the times—Madonna, Nirvana, Elton John, Tina Turner, Frank Zappa, Boy George, & about 500 other pop stars —while also spotlighting influential issues through interviews with figures such as the Dalai Lama, and Gorbachev. His incisive, conversational style brought stories to life, making MTV News an essential touchstone for a generation of young people throughout Europe.
After MTV, Steve took the reins at VIVA Zwei in Cologne, Germany, later setting up youth channel Tango TV in Luxembourg. In recent years, Steve pivoted to Screenwriting and Format Development, earning a Rose d’Or nomination, and becoming a twice published author, his first titled Getting Lost is Part of the Journey, a captivating memoir, both a vivid account of the media world and an inspiring personal story, and even is one of the co-writers on a pilot shown on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
